The Connolly Cup

Charlotte GAA will hold its annual Connolly Cup Tournament on June 1st 2019. The Charlotte James Connolly Club has been hosting the Connolly Cup since 2001, and in the past has seen teams from St. Barnabas in New York, the Cayman Islands, Philadelphia, Orlando, Tennessee, Charleston, DC, Baltimore, Winsten Salem, Raleigh, Austin and Atlanta compete.

The club is proud to host the largest tournament in the Southeast with teams competing in Ladies’ and Men’s Gaelic Football. Connolly Cup is pleased to pass on the love of Gaelic sports to a new generation of players by offering a youth coaching clinic in Gaelic football – all ages are welcome.

This year’s Connolly Cup will be held at Matthews Sportsplex (2425 Sports Parkway, Matthews, NC 28105).

Overall, the Connolly Cup will act as a huge stepping-stone for all clubs involved with highly competitive action as they look to build some momentum ahead of the North American County Board’s National Championships in Virginia.

Adrian Harkin Memorial

The event remembers those fondly who represented Charlotte James Connolly's with distinction and pride but who are sadly no longer with us.

Adrian Harkin, who passed suddenly, proudly wore the colors of James Stephens for many years in both hurling and football, as well as carrying his talents across the Atlantic to play for our own club here in Charlotte.

Please join us on April 20th to kickstart the season, whilst remembering a truly great young man. #charlotteabu
