NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING - November 19th, 2022

NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

 

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) for Charlotte James Connolly’s Gaelic Athletic Association will take place Sunday, December 12th.

                PLACE: TBA

                DATE: Saturday, November 19th

                TIME: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

 All members and interested individuals are encouraged to attend, in person, as the AGM remains an opportunity for members to actively engage in guiding the direction of our club for future seasons, participate in healthy club related dialogue and will ensure transparency and governance of process.

Attendees will also receive updates in the following areas:

-          Annual Reporting

-          Updates on the previous year’s agenda and upcoming plans

-          Updated Motion Review and/or live voting

-          2023 Executive Board Live Voting

-          CIAC Update

 

If you are unable to attend the AGM in person, you may proxy your vote to another eligible voting member. Any intent to proxy vote should be submitted to Club Secretary, Aoife Kavanagh - Secretary.CharlotteGAA@gmail.com, in writing no later than Saturday, November 12th.

 

VOTING:

Section 4.7 of approved Bylaws

 “Clause Proxies. A member may vote by proxy executed in writing by the member or a duly authorized attorney-in-fact. Proxies must be submitted to the Secretary in writing at least 7 days prior to the AGM or special meeting. No proxy shall be valid after six (6) months from the date of its execution, unless a longer time is approved by the Executive Board of Directors.”

 MOTIONS:

Section 4.4 of approved Bylaws

“Motions to be voted on at the Annual General Meeting of the voting members or at any Special Meeting can be brought by the Executive Board of Directors as well as all other voting members of the Club. All motions by members are required to be submitted to the Executive Board of Directors at least 30 days prior to the Annual General Meeting. Motions to be voted on during special meetings, should be sufficiently”

 

Any Motions for the AGM should be submitted by Thursday, October 20th (30 days prior to the scheduled AGM as referenced in Club Bylaws) to Club Chairperson, David Flanagan - Chair.CharlotteGAA@gmail.com.

 

Below you will find a detailed description of each Executive Board position up for nomination along with respective responsibilities. Please give this due consideration prior to the AGM. All positions are open for nomination. Any nominations should be submitted to Club Secretary, Aoife Kavanagh -Secretary.CharlotteGAA@gmail.com, no later than Saturday, November 12th.

EXECUTIVE BOARD DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

It is imperative that all club members have time to consider, and process, any proposed motions and cast their votes accordingly.  Any proposed motions and/or nominations brought forward will be communicated to all club members prior to the scheduled AGM.
